INDIVISIBLE DULUTH

ABOUT INDIVISIBLE TRAVERSE CITY

History:
Indivisible Traverse City began in January of 2017, founded by Gretchen Iorio and Lynne Van Ness.  Like so many of us, they were profoundly disturbed by the outcome of the November, 2016 election.  After discovering the Indivisible Guide, they were compelled to begin a local Indivisible chapter to resist the hurtful policies that the Republican leaders were promoting.  Individuals from all around the five-county Traverse Bay area joined the effort from the start. Betsy Coffia assisted by starting an Indivisible TC Facebook page. In 2017, the group spoke out, rallied, and took action on many issues such as: defense of the Affordable Care Act, immigration fairness, reproductive rights, defense of Planned Parenthood, truth and transparency in government, ending gerrymandering, mitigation of climate change, promotion of clean energy, protecting the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, working for well-funded schools, and shutting down Line 5. In 2018, the group expects to continue these efforts as well as doing whatever we can to elect progressive candidates at local, state, and federal levels.
